Fastened Infrastructure

We decided to affix a single, upper bed with a bunk/bench below to avoid having to set up the bed each night and, more importantly, so we didn't have to climb over each other in the middle of the night.

Cabinetry

We chose bamboo as our material because it is eco-friendly and incredibly resistant to chips, dings, and cracks.  It also has a nice clean look with its natural, warm hue.

Refrigeration

Our goal was to ensure easy access (and portability when needed), so we chose a top-loading unit which avoids issues with items falling out, and there is no door swinging open into your workspace.

Seating

With our permanent bench and the two swivel seats, plus the cushioned portable toilet enclosure, we can easily seat six people in our comfy, white van!

Water System

Following our mantra of KEEP IT SIMPLE, we built a sink with hot & cold running water, using gerry cans for both our fresh and grey water.  They are easy to fill and empty, and you don’t have worry about winterizing the plumbing system.

The Privy

We opted for a simple porta-potty (with a privacy curtain) that is odor tight and easy to empty.  Not having an under-the-floor waste tank preserves our clearance for driving off-road, and it eliminates (pun-intended) the need to search for dump stations.
